Our ministry is centered on sharing the love of Jesus Christ to those in need of a Savior. This section is reserved to sharing the great victories we are seeing on the field, on a monthly basis.December 2008 Dear Friends of Jesus, We have been about "Proclaiming Freedom to the People of Mirebalais" the past week and we have plenty of video to pass onto you as we put it all together. Amazing footage! Pastor Gene Smith and I traveled to the mountainous town of Mirebalais to proclaim the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to thousands who attended our public meetings. We had over 12 different speaking events which we ministered at, that were well attended. Our host Apostle Bertrand, who oversees 25 churches, was a most gracious & wonderful host, that has given his heart fully to the work of the kingdom of God. He shared with Gene and I that not too long ago he has been the target of a number of plots to be murdered due to his effective work for Christ. He continues to this day to be in hiding in some areas of Haiti. He has relocated his family to various locations to protect his loved ones. It all started when he was involved in a month long spiritual battle to free a voodoo priestess. For many days he battled the demons within her and expelled 5,000 of them. This extraordinary exorcism jolted the voodoo cult in the area and for 6 months this violent group conspired to kill him. During a church prayer service, which he was leading, 15 men stormed the church with machine guns and pistols, killing one deacon and injuring a few others, blood staining the ground of the church. Pastor Bertrand simply raised his hands to worship Jesus and the thugs bypassed him, though he was the TARGET. God protected him and has forgiven those who have hurt him and whom murdered a church member. As the armed men walked passed him, Pastor Bertrand quickly left the church and then ran into the bush for cover. The blood of the Martyrs strengthens the Body not weakens it. This is where the enemy underestimates the strength of the church. By murdering its members, the church only grows in power. The deacon who stood strong in the midst of the night terror left a wife (and I believe 5 children). We have decided to support this widow & her children. As you can imagine this pastor is very serious about the ministry and worked hard to make these public meetings a success. We held 6 afternoon training sessions for 50-60 pastors, a children's service, and spoke in a church, then held 4 open air meetings outside the town of Mirebalais. Some of the highlights included: • Training 60 pastors on how to cast out demons and to exercise their authority in Christ. This is one of the most important works as this will impact tens of thousands as they go back to their churches to pass on the information we shared. • On the first two nights, when I preached, I led the entire crusade crowd in prayers of salvation, healing, and deliverance. • Sharing a brief message with the children at an outdoor children's service. • Proclaiming the gospel to thousands during our 4 night crusade. • On the third night, when Gene was preaching, many hundreds responded to the call for deliverance. • On the fourth night, when Gene was preaching, many hundreds responded to the call for healing. (God really blessed the efforts of my good friend, Gene, when he preached, I look forward to future mission work with him) Gene and I experienced great spiritual resistance during our ministry times but God performed marvelous things in our midst and I'm anxious about placing some of the video up for all to see (those of you who gave to the ministry will receive a DVD of the meetings).
